My top 3 tips for getting a response when you chase a pitch
We’ve all had the experience of carefully crafting a pitch, emailing it out and then… radio silence.
It can be hugely frustrating and anxiety-provoking, not least because it inevitably means having to write the dreaded follow-up email. Finding a polite way of saying: “Hey stop ignoring me and answer please” without sounding either rude or pleading can be difficult – as can knowing how long you should leave it before chasing for a response.
Probably the most common question I get asked when I do media training for PR agencies, comms teams and individuals is: “When should I send a follow-up email?”. So, this week I thought I’d share the follow-up strategies that have worked best for me:
